Surface treatment: Cationic electrodeposition coating (Pb-free)

The method involves immersing the object to be coated in an electrophoretic paint, using the object as the cathode (negative) and the electrode plate installed in the diaphragm chamber of the electrophoretic tank as the anode (positive). A direct current of 100 to 200V is applied between them, causing the paint particles dispersed in the water to be attracted to the object due to electrical forces (electrophoresis), resulting in aggregation and deposition, thereby obtaining an excellent coating film.

Cationic electrodeposition coating is an electrodeposition method that uses direct current to charge the workpiece at one pole and the paint at the positive pole. The paint has weakly acidic properties and is applied using the cationic method, with a typical coating thickness of around 15 micrometers. It excels in heat resistance and corrosion resistance, and is used as a primer for parts that will undergo electrostatic painting in subsequent processes, in addition to automotive components. The process overview includes three lines: a conveyor-type line for small items and an elevator-type line for large items. Both are full dipping electrodeposition lines. Notably, the elevator-type line features a transfer system for moving jigs and operates with a 90-second cycle time, boasting excellent productivity.
